The Virtual Datacenter Control Framework (VDCF) is a platform
management framework for the Solaris Operating System. VDCF
allows to run a virtualized data center using Solaris 10 and
11 Zones (Containers) and/or Logical Domains controlled by
a centralized management server.
The VDCF product consists of a common base framework and
two additional main components. VDCF Server is used to manage
Solaris Zones (Containers). Deployment of Logical Domains
available on Oracle/Sun CMT Server is provided by VDCF LDom.
Use both Virtualization technologies combined to get the most
flexibility and benefit.
With VDCF, JomaSoft offers a tool to simply and effectively
operate your Solaris 10 and/or Solaris 11 based virtual data
center. On a central management server you create definitions
and configurations, which are stored in the Configuration
Repository. This information is then used by VDCF to populate
physical servers with a Solaris build from which virtual servers
or logical domains are created. Then VDCF is used to manage
the whole life cycle of these virtual objects: create, migrate,
start/stop, patch, compare, remove, ...
